October children’s month is a Dutch event that aims to connect youth to culture and cultural institutions to youth. Every weekend in October museums, theatres, concert halls, castles subsidized and private organizations open their doors and organize special activities for children from 4 to 12 years old, free of admission*.

A varied program takes shape every year with creative workshops, exciting tours and fascinating theatre and music performances. We also take the special needs of children with disabilities into account. The weekends in October are a wonderful opportunity for each child to discover the diversity of art and culture.
October children’s month started in the northern provinces of The Netherlands. The other provinces in The Netherlands will align in the coming years. In 2012, October children’s month started for the first time in Berlin, Germany.
